Olivia, everyone’s favorite pig, coming to TV

It was only a matter of time, right? Olivia, everyone’s favorite bossy bovine, is stepping out of the pages of Ian Falconer’s books, and into her own half-hour show on Nickelodeon. Expected screen date: 2009.

So, quick! Weigh in, before the show goes into production. Any thoughts on voice-over artists, music and animation? Here’s hoping the powers that be don’t screw it up. Does anyone remember Dilbert? Not a kids’ show, of course, but a nice lesson for producers on How To Screw Things Up.

Please don’t make her have a whiney, high-pitched or loud voice. Please make her voice clear and confident, as well as sticking with the wonderful aspects from the book. Eleanor Roosevelt, Marie Callas, Jackson Pollack. Also, it would be a wonderful venue to introduce other people who have made a positive difference in our world, Mother Theresa and Martin Luther King. One last suggestion, keep her plucky spirit and the parents smart and helpful to Olivia’s situations. I am a mother of an Olivia Merrie, and I am looking very forward to being able to enjoy the show as much as the books. Thank you for your time.
